MDA uses TD to recruit and monitor subjects for clinical trials. Currently, MDA is planning a clinical trial using TD to recruit, teach and monitor subjects with Kaposis sarcoma and lymphedema in a study conducted by the AIDS Malignancy Consortium (National Cancer Institute) to be used in 6 low income and middle income countries in South America and sub-Saharan Africa.

TD is being used to link the Central Asian country of Tajikistan to Nepal to provide training,
collaboration and telederm expertise in dermatology and teledermatology.
TD is being rapidly implemented in Bangladesh in the Rohingya refugee camp to provide dermatologic services for camp patients and connect them to dermatology specialists in the University of Chittagong in Bangladesh.

TD is being implemented through a global dermatology grant to unite dermatologists throughout
Tajikistan in an effort to enhance consultations nationally.

Artificial Intelligence
Through a U54 and UH2/UH3 award (National Cancer Institute), MDA TD is working with the NLOM to build a library of images that can be accessed throught the public domain. These images will be used in work that the NLOM is doing in diagnosis of skin cancers through artificial intelligence.
